Itinerary/Activity Schedule
1st day 03:00 – meeting in Warsaw. Going to Tallin, where we are going to see Upper and Lower Town with characteristic towers (Fat Margaret and Tall Hermann tower.). The next symbol of the city is St. Olaf's church (124 m), which was the world's tallest building from 1549 to 1625. A panorama of the city from the Toompea (limestone hill in the central part of the town) viewing platform is really admirable.
2nd day
A ferry ride to Helsinki, where we are going to see for example: the Esplanade (Helsinki’s most picturesque boulevard and one of the city’s most popular destinations for out-of-town visitors), the Senate Square, the Lutheran Cathedral, the Uspensky Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the Market Squere, and Stockmann's Department Store. We are going to see also the Sibelius Park and one of Helsinki's landmarks, the monument to honour national composer Jean Sibelius. Then we'll see Olympic Stadium and The Temppeliaukio Kirkko (Rock Church) which is a thrilling work of modern architecture in Helsinki. Going to Saint Petersburg. Night's rest in a hotel and dinner.
3rd day
At the beginning we'll tour through the Nevsky Prospekt, situated on the left bank of the Neva. This is the main avenue in the city. We are going to see: Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Vosstaniya Square, Anichkov Palace and Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace, Ostrovsky Square Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Monument to Catherine the Great, the Gostyny Dvor, the Catholic Church of St. Catherine, Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, the Stroganov Palace (next to the Chocolate Museum), the Wawelberg Bank Building, the Admiralty building. Then we'll move to the right bank of the river, where are situated: Peter's House, The Cruiser Aurora Museum, etc. Then we'll get to the Palace Square and the Alexander Column, and we'll visit one of the world's great museums, the Hermitage.
4th day
Going to Peterhof - Peter the Great's favourite residence. Located on the sea shore The Grand Palace and park complex of Peterhof with its unique array of fountains is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Dinner in the restaurant, and (for volunteers) evening canals cruise and the program „Draw-bridges".
5th day
Going to Tsarskoe Selo – town of Pushkin, the magnificent summer residence of the Russian Royal family.
6th day
Coming back to Poland.
