Salcia & Merkys rivers

Šalčia river - a river with crystal-clear and cold water, surrounded by wild woods of the Rudnicka Forest, very winding with a quite fast current and rather low banks.

Merkys river - a river which is even 50 metres wide, flows quite rapidly, there are rapids, but not too difficult to overcome, however, be careful of stream boulders.

Daily stages to overcome: from 10 to 17 km, totally 95 km.

  • Seating in a double tourist kayak with the equipment.

Additional information

  • Meeting of the group in Augustow – SZOT office (location - map) on 1st day, then going to the starting point in Lithuania.
  • Coming back to Augustow on the last day.  
  • You should take your identity card or passport.
  • Luggage transportation service and meals (for the whole group) possible.
